WHAT ARE MARINE RESOURCES?
- These are many things both abiotic and biotic that has utilities to human beings.
- Examples:
- Salt
- Manganese or Magnesia
- Polymetallic Nodules
- Cobalt
- Pearl
- Sulfur
- Diamond
- Monazite sand
- Marine resources can be classified into the following types:
- Biotic Resources
- Abiotic resources
- Mineral Resources
- Energy Resources
WHAT ARE BIOTIC AND ABIOTIC RESOURCES?
- Biotic factors are living things within an ecosystem; such as plants, animals, and bacteria.
- Abiotic factors are non-living components; such as water, soil and atmosphere.
WHAT ARE ENERGY RESOURCES?
- Energy resources are all forms of fuels used, either for heating, generation of electrical energy, or for other forms of energy conversion processes.
- Energy resources can be roughly classified in three categories: Renewable, Non-Renewable, and Nuclear.
